Miley Cyrus responds to criticism she's dating too fast following split from Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus has responded to critics who say she is moving on too fast following her separation from husband Liam Hemsworth

In August, Cyrus announced that she and Hemsworth had decided to split after an on-off 10-year relationship and eight months of marriage

Following the separation, Cyrus has been romantically linked to reality star Kaitlynn Carter and Australian singer Cody Simpson.

Just two weeks after splitting from Carter following a whirlwind summer romance, the former Disney star was spotted kissing Simpson at a restaurant.

Now Cyrus has taken social media critics to task with a lengthy rant on Twitter in which she claims she has been 'slut shamed' and wants to be left to date freely.

“I know the public feels invested in my past relationship because they felt like they saw it thru from the beginning. I think that's why people have always felt so entitled over my life and how I live it because they've watched me grow up [sic],” Cyrus wrote.

“But I am grown now and make choices as an adult knowing the truth/details/reality. People only ‘know’ what they see on the internet.”

The "Wrecking Ball" singer went on to highlight the unfair treatment of women who choose to date compared to male counterparts.

“Men (especially successful ones) are RARELY slut shamed. They move on from one beautiful woman to the next MOST times without consequence,” Cyrus wrote.

”They are referred to as ‘legends’, ‘heart throbs’, where women are called sluts/whores! I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a ‘mans’ world.

Cyrus concluded the post with a gibe towards US presidentDonald Trump, writing: “If we can't beat em, join em! If our president can ‘grab em by the p****’ can't I just have a kiss and acai bowl?!?!"

In a second Twitter post, Cyrus urged fans to “get used” to her seeing other people, adding that she “refuses to recluse and date from home”.

“I have a great life I wouldn’t trade for ‘privacy’ but PLEASE don’t make this award for me!” Cyrus wrote.

“Get used to me dating – this is where I am at! #HotGirlFall."
