Miley Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter have taken their relationship to the next level and appeared in public together as a couple.
The singer, 26, and her reality star beau, 30, arrived hand in hand at the VMAs after-party on Tuesday.
Kaitlynn had been at the ceremony to support Miley while she gave an emotional performance of her Liam Hemsworth break-up song Slide Away .
The couple were seen getting out of a big black car as they walked into the event together.
Miley went back to her country roots in a big cowboy hat, which she wore with a Fendi jacket, a white crop top and blue jeans.
Kaitlynn, whose ex is Brody Jenner, looked just as casual in a houndstooth jacket, white t-shirt and jeans.
A protective Miley grabbed her girlfriend's hand as they made their way through a sea of flashing camera lights.
Just hours earlier she looked emotional as she belted out Slide Away while the picture turned black and white.
It was her first major public appearance since announcing the split.
Their break-up was announced by Miley's publicist, who said: "Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.
"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
"They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart.
"Please respect their process and privacy."
Not long after that, Miley was pictured kissing Kaitlynn in Lake Como.
