Career Stats

Former Penn State product and current Giants running back Saquon Barkley hindered Sanders’ production through his first three seasons. It wasn’t until 2018 when he got his time to shine, and completely took advantage of it.

Sanders rushed for 1,274 yards and nine touchdowns on 220 carries. He also caught 24 passes for 139 yards (5.8 average). Sanders was named second-team All-Big Ten selection, as well as the Nittany Lion’s Most Valuable Offensive Player.

Sanders is a decisive one-cut runner that is able to improvise and make defenders miss in traffic. He’s adept setting up cutback lanes and getting to the second level. Sanders is an instinctive runner that can feel where holes are going to be.

The former Penn State product has success both between the tackles and on the edges. He’s very difficult to square up in space because of his elusiveness. Sanders makes an impact out of the backfield as a pass catcher and as a blocker with his decent size.

However, Sanders must improve his ball-security and he isn’t going to be a running back that will beat you with top-end speed. Overall, Sanders is a versatile back that possesses awareness and balance. He has the ability to step into a rotation, while working his way into an every-down running back.

Projection: 3rd-4th Round
