Miles Sanders looking like an RB2 in fantasy football

The Philadelphia Eagles drafted Miles Sanders with the idea that he’d bring a dynamic three-down skill set comparable to his former Penn State teammate, Saquon Barkley. No, Sanders isn’t Barkley per se, but the second-round pick is extremely shifty and intense with his change of direction.

Even with Jordan Howard in the fold, Sanders is getting a lot of fantasy football love, and recently ESPN.com rated Sanders a running back to watch in fantasy football, with the ceiling to become a second running back for a prospective team.

Fantasy Ceiling: During the draft process, I tagged Sanders as a potential three-down back at the pro level. The traits are there to develop as a receiver and as a reliable pass-blocker for Wentz. If we see Sanders display a quick learning curve here, then his ceiling is going to rise.

Even with the rookie sharing carries in the backfield, adding targets can boost him into the lower-tier RB2 range for PPR managers. And he is a really good fit for the Eagles’ run schemes. There’s a lot of upside with Sanders if the volume is right.

The Eagles operate by committee at running back and with Darren Sproles returning, Sanders could lose some work on third down’s if he’s not proficient in pass protection.
