Miles Bridges doesn’t think he deserved an All-Rookie selection

Miles Bridges had a decent, not great, but decent rookie season with the Charlotte Hornets. His efforts earned him six votes for the NBA All-Rookie Team, with one of these votes even coming for the First Team. Some Charlotte and Michigan State fans have taken to social media to say that he was snubbed and deserved to actually be on the All-Rookie Team. Bridges, however, disagreed:

Now, I don’t think Bridges necessarily deserved to be on the team, but I also don’t think he ‘played like ass’ either. However, you have to love the humble attitude from the Flint native as he heads into his second season.

I would actually argue that, while I don’t think Bridges should’ve made the team, he actually probably deserved more than six votes. He was behind two Knicks rookies (Allonzo Trier and Kevin Knox) and I am sure that he was better than them, but they are getting votes from New York residents. 7.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.2 assists on 21 minutes-per-game is a solid stat line for a rookie. Nevertheless, I’m happy to see that Miles Bridges looks to be heading into the summer with something to prove, so I am predicting we will see more dunks like this next season:
