Mile Jedinak has got Palace fans talking after what he did for Aston Villa in play-off clash

Mile Jedinak remains a popular figure among Crystal Palace fans, as can be seen from their reaction to his penalty for Aston Villa last night (Tuesday).

The Australian midfielder netted in the shootout as Villa defeated West Bromwich Albion 4-3 on penalties to progress to the Championship play-off final for the second season in a row.

Jedinak, who has a great record from the spot for club and country and never missed a penalty during his time at Palace, was brought on in the final few seconds of extra time, ahead of the penalty shootout.

'What a hero' - Palace fans are loving what Aston Villa's Mile Jedinak did at Spurs' new stadium

And he stepped up to take the second penalty for Villa in the shootout at The Hawthorns, scoring from the spot to put Jedinak 2-0 up after two saves from goalkeeper Jed Steer.

That had Palace supporters reminiscing about the popular Australian, who left the club in 2016 to sign for Villa.

Aston Villa, Derby County, Leeds United or West Brom? Who to back in the Championship playoffs

And these Eagles fans are all talking about their former captain, with some saying the same thing about the Australian, as can be seen below.

The 34-year-old is out of contract at Villa this summer, having signed for the club in the summer of 2016 from Palace, where he captained the Eagles to promotion from the Championship via the play-offs in 2013, before helping the club survive in the Premier League over the next three years.
