A murder investigation has been launched after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death in east London.
A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after the victim was found with stab wounds in Pickard Gardens, Mile End, at around 1.30pm on Wednesday.
His next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by officers.
A 17-year-old boy who was taken to hospital with injuries and has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.
A 25-year old woman, who was also taken to hospital, and a 41-year-old woman were also arrested but later released.
Police await an update on the condition of the 25-year-old.
A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.
Detective Chief Superintendent James Conway, the local policing lead for Tower Hamlets and Hackney said: “This was a tragic incident which will have devastating impact for the family and our thoughts are with those affected.
“Our investigation is seeking to understand the events which led to the man’s death. I can confirm that those arrested and the two who were injured were all known to the man who died.
“We believe this incident occurred within a residential address and I know our local community in Mile End will be shocked to hear about this investigation. My local neighbourhood officers, with support from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, will be present in the local area.”
