Mildura man arrested on people-smuggling charges to face court

A 37-year-old from Mildura in Victoria’s north-west has been charged by the Australian federal police over his alleged involvement in a people smuggling ring operating in Iraq and Australia.

The man was charged with the aggravated offence of people smuggling and will face court today.

An investigation as part of Operation Sovereign Borders saw a property in Adelaide and another three in Mildura raided last October. Police said Thursday’s arrest was linked to the raids.
