Celtic have been linked with a move for 20-year-old Dutch right back Milan van Ewij - despite currently being without a permanent manager.
The Hoops are yet to decide who will succeed Neil Lennon, with John Kennedy in charge as interim boss for the remainder of the season.
But Celtic scouts have reportedly watched defensive talent van Ewijk, who has impressed for Den Haag in the Eredivisie this season.
However, they face competition to land van Ewijk - who has 18 months left of his contract - from German clubs Schalke, Hamburg, Darmstadt and Belgian side Gent.
Van Ewijk's agent, Style de Jong, said: "At the moment Milan is focusing on the relegation battle with Den Haag.
"He is not distracted by all the interest in him.
"We have drawn up a step-by-step plan together to make the best choices in his early, but promising career and we will stick to that.
The full back has made 24 appearances for Den Haag this season, but looks certain to move at the end of the campaign
Celtic are on the lookout for a new right back after banking £11.5 million for Jeremie Frimpong. They signed Everton defender Jonjoe Kenny on loan, which turned out to be Lennon's last signing for the club.
