AC Milan could move for Rudiger
AC Milan sporting director Ricky Massara refused to rule out a deadline move for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger as the club go in search of a centre-back.
“We will see, there are only a few hours left, if there is an opportunity to improve under acceptable conditions, we will consider it,” said Massara (via MilanNews.it).
“Kabak and Rudiger? We are evaluating whether there are plausible conditions to move forwards. It’s very short (the window) and I’m not sure we will do anything else.
"If something happens it will be exclusively in the centre-back position but it seems unlikely at the moment.”
Crouch on Rice rumours
Declan Rice has been linked with a move to Chelsea this summer and put in another brilliant performance in West Ham’s 4-0 win over Wolves on Saturday. But former England star Peter Crouch thinks that the midfielder will stay in East London.
"I know it's only one result against Wolves but they were so impressive," Crouch said on BT Sport. "The reason they were so impressive was the two midfielders. I thought they were the heartbeat of everything.
"I watched Declan Rice closely, because of the price-tag, with the rumours of him potentially going to Chelsea.
“But he didn't look like a man who wanted to move on.”
Blues plans dealt blow
Chelsea had hoped to make a deadline day bid for West Ham star Declan Rice, but having spent over £200m this summer they ended to offload a few players first.
Marcos Alonso had been linked with a move away following the arrival of Ben Chilwell from Leicester, but it looks as though he may have to stay put after formerly interested party Inter Milan withdrew their interest.
Inter’s CEO Giuseppe Marotta told DAZN : “We’re not going to sign Marcos Alonso on deadline day.”
Alonso could still depart, but time is running out to find a suitor who can stump up enough cash.
