Mikey Devlin suffers more Aberdeen injury misery as luckless defender sidelined until March

Luckless Mikey Devlin’s injury jinx has struck again - with the Aberdeen star set to be sidelined until March.

The Scotland international blocked a shot in training and will now go for ankle ligament surgery next week.

The Dons expect the defender to be out for three months in another bitter blow for the 27-year-old.

Devlin only made his first appearance of the season, coming off the bench for a 10 minute cameo, in the weekend draw with St Mirren in Paisley.

He missed the start of the season with a hamstring issue and was looking to force his way into Derek McInnes ' first team and then to push to get back into Steve Clarke ’s Scotland team for the World Cup qualifiers.

He earned three Scotland caps in 2019 with appearances against Russia, San Marino and Cyprus.

Devlin, who bravely fought back from two cruciate injuries at Hamilton, was also sidelined with a foot injury for a long spell in his first season.
