Mikel Arteta told how to get the best from Philippe Coutinho as Arsenal get Dani Ceballos boost

Here is the Arsenal morning digest on Thursday, July 13.

Arteta told how to get the best out of Coutinho

Jurgen Klopp has previously explained where he sees Philippe Coutinho's best position on the pitch, amid speculation that Arsenal have been offered the former Liverpool playmaker.

The Brazilian midfielder, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich from Barcelona, has been heavily tipped for a return to England after his disappointing spell at the Nou Camp.

And according to Sky in Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have offered Coutinho to Arsenal on loan.

Ceballos boost

Arsenal have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Dani Ceballos after Real Madrid opted to recall Martin Odegaard from Real Sociedad.

Ceballos has spent the season on loan in north London and Arsenal are understood to be negotiating to extend that loan deal for another season with Real Madrid.

The Spaniard was one of his side’s standout stars since the restart, impressing Mikel Arteta and cementing his place as Granit Xhaka's partner in the centre of midfield.

The Gunners are not thought to be in a position to seal a permanent transfer for the midfielder but are keen for him to return to the club for next season.

Joelson bid rejected

Portuguese outlet A Bola claim Arsenal have had a £29m bid rejected by Sporting CP for Joelson Fernandes.

It is understood to be the second official offer made for the teenager, with the Gunners previously having an £18m bid turned down.

Sporting are adamant that they will only sell the player if his release clause of £41m is triggered.

Yet, with the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic still hitting football, the Gunners have been testing the Portuguese side's resolve with lower bids.
