Mikel Arteta suffers new Arsenal injury setback ahead of North London Derby vs Tottenham

Mikel Arteta will be sweating over the fitness of the likes of Thomas Partey, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Takehiro Tomiyasu ahead of this Saturday's North London Derby. football.london understands that Arsenal are hopeful that all three players will be available for the visit of Tottenham.

However, one player who is set to miss the clash after suffering an injury setback is Cedric Soares. The defender had only just returned from an injury issue that kept him out of the games against FC Zurich and Brentford.

football.london's Arsenal Writer Kaya Kaynak has reported that Cedric has picked up a fresh knock that will keep him out for up to two weeks. It's been a frustrating start to the season for the Portugal international who is yet to play a minute for the Gunners so far this campaign.

Cedric featured in 21 of Arsenal's 38 Premier League games last season - enjoying a consistent run in the side during the final few months - but he looks set to play a lesser role this campaign, even when he does shake off his fresh knock. Ben White has started the season at right-back and has performed admirably, despite being a centre-back by trade.

Despite Cedric's setback, there is some good news in the right-back department, with the Gunners 'hopeful' that Tomiyasu will be fit for the visit of Spurs. Tomiyasu went away during the international break, but returned to north London ahead of schedule despite playing the full 90 in Japan's 2-0 friendly win over the USA.
