Mikel Arteta shares his theory on Arsenal's sudden upturn in form after Norwich hammering

Mikel Arteta insists Arsenal are growing in their belief as they make a push for a top-four finish.

In-form Arsenal thrashed bottom of the table Norwich with Bukayo Saka on target as they recorded a fifth straight win in all competitions.

Gunners boss Arteta said: “The direction the team is taking, how we are growing, the understanding, the unity, the support from our supporters in every ground is very much linked with the way we want to play. I am very pleased with that as well.

"It's a very satisfying result because in this festive period we have to keep performances to a high level.

"We looked really sharp and committed. It's a big win for us. I am really pleased. The amount of chance we create is pleasing.

"We go to every ground to try and impose our game. Today was a really good example. The unity we have around the club and with our fans is very pleasing.”

Arsenal’s 5-0 thumping at Norwich also helped them boost their goal difference which was -11 after their first three games ended in defeat without them scoring a goal amid a Covid outbreak way back in August.

Arteta said: “I’m happy because it’s not easy to win away in the Premier League and the way performed, dominant from the beginning and quality we showed, it was very pleasing.

“In general, collectively and individually we had big performances, so I’m very happy.

“The start to the season was difficult but we are scoring more because we are getting into better positions, every process is done much better.”
