Mikel Arteta has hinted that Kieran Tierney could be set to take on more responsibilities at Arsenal during pre-season.
It comes as the Gunners coach looks for more leaders to his squad as he looks to mould his own vision.
The Spaniard has been looking to offload a number of players this summer with the likes of William Saliba, Matteo Guendouzi and David Luiz all departing.
There are further transfers planned for the likes of Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka and Hector Bellerin.
It means that the Arsenal dressing room will be a lot thinner by the start of the season - and a lot less loud.
However, Tierney appears to be stepping up to the mark and was one of the main instigators of the Gunners going to Scotland for their pre-season preparations.
Arteta revealed all on the club's plans and it hints that the former Celtic star is becoming more and more integral by the day.
He said: "The first thing is that we've got time, something that we haven't had since arrived here, to prepare a lot of things that are very necessary to develop.
"The second one, we chose Scotland - it was Kieran's advice to be fair and I think he was spot on. It's got everything that we need here. "
Arsenal lost their first friendly of the campaign when they took on Hibernian, with the Scottish side winning 2-1.
They take on Rangers this afternoon with the match being shown on ArsenalTV.

Arteta added: "We are quiet, we are calm, we have really good facilities, we are not far from home just in case something happens in this COVID world.
"It's been really good and we could have two really good games to start our preparation. America is about going away. We know the brand, the club that we represent, and that's a global brand.

"We have to be there, we have to be close to our fans all around the world.
"That's a huge opportunity for us to do that and we have our owners there that we can see, meet and get close to the team, which is a really positive thing as well.
"And then we have a tournament that had everything that we wanted: international teams, a Premier League team, and we can start to raise the level in our preparation."
