Mikel Arteta's latest Pep Guardiola idea steal backfired for Arsenal against Crystal Palace

Arsenal were unable to get maximum points in the 2-2 draw to Crystal Palace. Two individual mistakes from Sambi Lokonga and Thomas Partey cost their side dearly as Christian Benteke and Odsonne Edouard both struck to give Vieira’s side the lead.

Mikel Arteta has tried implementing a style at Arsenal from plenty of what he has learned during his time at Manchester City. However, he has been unable to recreate the electric form of City with a side of considerably weaker levels of senior talent.

Yet, Arteta has continued to attempt plenty of quirks to try every avenue to help his side as much as possible.

One of the latest techniques has been revealed to be the new dressing room design. Gone are the wooden dressing rooms in the shape designed by Arsene Wenger and now an attempt to make it more curved and open has appeared.

It has not been confirmed whether Arteta was consulted in the design of the room yet there are some tell-tale signs that he might have had something to do with it.

Looking at an image of the Manchester City dressing room which Arteta spent several seasons in and there are some major similarities between the two.

Both have the big message across the top in the club colours, both now have the club crest on the floor. Arsenal have now removed the middle table it seems altogether.

Gone are the bare wooden units and instead Arsenal have coloured the pods red. This is a difference from the City dressing room which is flatter and less segregated.

The change of scenery inside the ground however had little effect on the Arsenal performance. The Gunners were again lifeless and lacked invention despite scoring twice.

Mikel Arteta will need to change much more about his current side’s output than what is going on with the aesthetics of the dressing room.
