Mikel Arteta's decision in Man United win that Arsenal fans will hope is a sign of more to come

Arsenal fans are enjoying that winning feeling in the Premier League once again after defeating Manchester United 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

It has been a disappointing season for Arsenal so far, with just five wins in the first half of the season in the Premier League.

But the new year has brought a new feeling for the Gunners, with a much-needed first win for the new boss Mikel Arteta in his third full game in charge.

It was a first win in six games in all competitions for the Gunners, with their last victory coming last month against West Ham during Freddie Ljungberg's time as interim head coach.

What to expect from Arsenal in the January transfer window

However, there was one statistic that Arsenal fans will be hoping is a sign of things to come.

That is that this was the first time this season that Arsenal had started a game with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Nicolas Pepe and Mesut Ozil, with the Gunners now having a 100 per cent record when they have started together.

Pepe, who scored the opening goal of the game, has had an indifferent start to his time at Arsenal, following his record transfer from Lille in the summer.

But he has now scored five goals in 22 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions, with Arsenal fans hoping there will be more of the same from him in 2020 after his performance against the Red Devils.
