Arsenal’s defeat of Chelsea on Wednesday was a vital three points for the Gunners and also helped to prove manager Mikel Arteta right.
Emile Smith Rowe pounced after an error by Jorginho to scored the game’s only goal 16 minutes into the Premier League clash.
Arteta has experienced a tough time in his first full season in charge at the Emirates, with the Gunners being knocked out of the Europa League and missing out on the top four.
As a result, the Spaniard has faced fierce criticism for his management of the team, with some questioning if he is the right man for the job.

But in the lead up to the visit to Stamford Bridge, Arteta fired back at his critics and insisted that the Gunners had improved under his guidance.
“We haven't done what we want in the Premier League in terms of results,” the Spaniard told Sky Sports.
“What we have done in terms of performances compared to last year, the way the team is, the identity of the team, (the difference) is night and day.

“But results wise it has not been (what we wanted) over 38 games.
"We have managed to things we haven't for five years, winning against the top teams. But we are not where we want to be.”
While the Gunners’ struggles in the league this season, their win over Chelsea added credence to Arteta’s suggestion that Arsenal had improved since he replaced Unai Emery.
Wednesday’s victory continued Arsenal’s incredible run under Arteta that has seen them not lose a game after going ahead since September’s defeat to Liverpool.
That is a remarkable run of 13 games in the Premier League, only one of which has ended in a draw, with the win at Stamford Bridge also the first at the ground in 10 years.
The incredible statistic suggests that Arteta has indeed overseen an improvement during his time in charge of the Gunners.
