Parallels can be drawn between Mikel Arteta's critical comments about his Arsenal side and Thomas Tuchel's past comments regarding Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.
It has been a challenging campaign for the Gunners, who were recently knocked out of the Europa League semi-final by Villarreal and are likely to miss out on a European place altogether for next season.
For certain Arsenal players, this is likely to have been their final opportunity to claim silverware as Arteta plans a rebuild ahead of the new campaign.
The Gunners' boss is all too aware that changes are required as he suggested that some individuals could only reach 'a certain level'.

Asked if he felt he had received the maximum from his players, the Spaniard responded: "With the majority of them, yes."
"Again, finding a different way to do it. Challenging them again. Putting somebody next to them to try to push them again.
"Some of them can get to a certain level and you cannot push them any further. You want to evolve them but it’s not possible."
One player in particular who has fallen below his usual high standards is Aubameyang.
The Gabonese striker hit 29 goals in all competitions last season and was rewarded with a new three-year contract, but the 31-year-old has not kicked on in the way most expected.
Attempting to explain Aubameyang's drop-off could be linked to several factors, though Tuchel may have the answer.
The pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund when Tuchel was in charge of the German side and developed a strong relationship.
Tuchel was full of praise for his former player when speaking ahead of tonight's London derby and suggested that the Gunners' lack of quality in other areas may be to blame for Aubameyang's reduced numbers.

"He is a winner," the Chelsea boss explained.
"We won the cup together in Dortmund and I never felt he lacked a certain edge or the mentality that you need if you want to win stuff. Clearly, he can’t do it alone, he needs a top squad to play in to compete at the highest level.
"I can only say that my experience with Auba was you could push him to the limit and he was always open for the challenge, to take the next step, to stay hungry.
"He was never lazy and satisfied with one goal, two goals. He was always going for a third one and then in the next game. I had a strong feeling he is a real winner and you could rely on him."
