Mikel Arteta says he is "very happy" with Arsenal's ongoing efforts to sign their key targets ahead of the transfer window closure next week.
The Gunners are attempting to land two new central midfielders, with Lyon captain Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey of Atletico Madrid thought to be their chief targets.
Arteta has previously spoken about the need to strengthen his squad ahead of a long season, and the Gunners have been locked in talks to land reinforcements despite the arrivals of Willian, Gabriel and Dani Ceballos on another season-long loan.
football.london understands a first offer for Aouar was rejected, but Arsenal are preparing to return with a second improved bid of £36.4million with a further £9.1million in add-ons.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has already hinted that Aouar could leave the club this summer - but has set a deadline for any potential outgoings.
"From Friday evening, when Rudi [Garcia] will choose his squad vs Marseille, there will be no departures," said Aulas.
"We could see ourselves lose two players."
When asked about a scenario where Arsenal don't add to their squad by the transfer deadline, Arteta said he was content in the knowledge that the club are trying their best.
“I am very happy because the way we are acting around the market and the squad, the link between myself, Edu and the board is really good," Arteta said.
"After, in a deal you have three or four parties involved but I’m really happy with the link at the moment.
"We are trying our maximum, full support from the owners.
"With what we have, believe me, we will try our best.”
