Mikel Arteta provides update on January transfer window outgoings ahead of deadline day

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted several players could leave on loan before Monday's transfer deadline.

The Gunners are looking to send the likes of Reiss Nelson and Joe Willock on loan with both of their game time limited at the club.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles is also expected to head out on loan with Southampton currently the favourites to sign him.

"There are some conversations at the moment going on," said Arteta.

"I spoke with all the players about their own situation because they are all aware of the minutes they're are playing and want to improve their situation.

"We need to help some of them and the club is willing to help them and we want to try and find a solution in the end, but I don't know if that will be the case or not."

Shkodran Mustafi is another player who could leave before deadline day with Liverpool said to be interested in signing the German centre back.

football.london had reported that Arsenal were looking to find a solution with Mustafi after he wasn't included in a squad since the match against Chelsea on Boxing Day.
