Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has opened up on his team news for the FA Cup fourth round clash against Bournemouth.
The Gunners know they will face Portsmouth away from home if they beat the Cherries but a tough fourth round tie still needs to be navigated tonight.
Sokratis has come back into the Arsenal side this evening for the FA Cup encounter and Arteta has discussed the 31-year-old defender's fitness, after a recent illness stopped him featuring at Chelsea in the Premier League.
"He (Sokratis) has been training well in the last few days," Arteta told BT Sport. "We have options in his position. He is in the right place for this game."
Arteta also touched on the importance of the FA Cup to him and Arsenal in light of comments by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp that he will not be in charge of the Reds' fourth round replay at home to Shrewsbury Town.
This is due to fixture congestion, a viewpoint which has been criticised.
"Our history is very close to this competition. It's a great opportunity to win a trophy," Arteta added after the topic of Liverpool and Klopp was brought up.
"It's a great chance for everyone in the squad to be involved as well.
"We have to take it very seriously because it will be tough."
