Mikel Arteta 'not considering Man City exit' amid Arsenal and Everton links

Mikel Arteta is not thought to be considering leaving Manchester City as speculation over his first managerial job continues.

City assistant Arteta, 37, has again been tipped for the Arsenal job following Unai Emery's sacking, having been on the shortlist to replace Arsene Wenger 18 months ago.

Everton , another of the Spaniard's former clubs, are also on the lookout for a new manager after parting company with Marco Silva.

Arteta has made no secret of his desire to become a Premier League manager but he is not thought to be making any immediate plans to leave the Premier League champions.

The Athletic reports Arteta has not discussed leaving the club since news of Emery and Silva's sackings emerged.

He is said to feel loyal to Pep Guardiola and feels he has a lot to gain by staying at the Etihad and learning his trade.

It could be that Arteta receives an offer to good to turn down but the current coaching set-up is expected to stay together until the summer at least.

Guardiola's future is also increasingly unclear with the Spaniard in his fourth season at the Etihad.

Speculation over returns to former clubs Barcelona and Bayern Munich have been mooted, although the City boss is reportedly planning for next season.

His current deal expires at the end of next campaign but Guardiola has not ruled out extending his stay in Manchester.
