Hector Bellerin has an agreement with Mikel Arteta that could allow him to leave Arsenal.
That's according to reports from ESPN who claim the Spanish full-back could be set to leave in the summer and with Arteta's permission.
Bellerin is Arteta's first-choice right-back and it's highly unlikely the Arsenal boss wants the 25-year-old to leave this summer, but the Arteta has already given his word ahead of this summer.
The promise, however, isn't that Bellerin can leave but rather that Arteta will once again discuss what the future holds for the defender, and indeed whether it will be at the Emirates Stadium.
Last summer, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain were said to be lurking and ready to push through a £30million deal for the full-back, but neither came to fruition.
That's because Arteta convinced Bellerin to stay for another season under one condition, that the pair would revisit the topic of the defender's future at the end of the 2020/21 season.
That could mean Bellerin becomes available this summer, but finding a deal this time around may prove far more difficult if indeed the Spaniard does want to leave.
Barcelona have encountered serious financial issues since last summer and will have a new president by the time the summer roles around, and PSG have a different manager, meaning they could go in a different direction.
Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has since taken over from new Chelsea head coach Thomas Tuchel, and that could mean the Bellerin plan changes.
The 25-year-old defender has been a regular at Arsenal again this season, making 28 appearances across all competitions and he has a contract for another two years, but with the Gunners underperforming in the Premier League it may be a question of whether the Barcelona-born full-back has bigger ambitions and whether he feels he can achieve them in North London.
