Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has seen one of his decisions against Villarreal heavily critisiced.
The Gunners boss took a huge gamble with his team selection in the first-leg of their Europa League semi-final first-leg, opting to start without a recognised striker as Emile Smith Rowe operated as a 'false nine'.
With Gabriel Martinelli available, Arsenal legend Martin Keown hit out at Arteta 's decision to leave the Brazilian wonderkid out of his starting XI against the La Liga outfit.
"The manager doesn’t like him, it’s as simple as that," Keown told BT Sport. "I don’t know, I’m not there everyday at the training ground.
"I think it’s very interesting that [Martin] Odegaard went internationally and said that in training he’s the best young player he’s ever seen - he (Odegaard) is at Real Madrid!
"So, now it’s time to let him fly - let’s look at the positives, let’s get him into the team, let’s support that.
"When he came on, I thought he did a great job, not only was he making runs down the middle, he was coming back, it was like Duracell batteries he had. Keep him in the team, play him.
"We’ve seen what you’ve done with [Emile] Smith Rowe and Saka - support the players. But they need, on a night like tonight, experience around them and I think they were found wanting at times tonight.
"For the central-defenders, it didn’t look comfortable. There were holes in the team and he’s going to have to fix that."
With that said, another of Arteta's team selection decisions might have hinted that a summer transfer is inevitable.
The Spaniard opted for Calum Chambers at right-back instead of Cedric Soares and, perhaps, tellingly Hector Bellerin who has recently been linked with a £22m summer move to Paris Saint-Germain.
Last month, Sport claimed Bellerin is ready for a new challenge and that the Gunners are willing to sell the 26-year-old if negotiations with PSG are successful.
It remains to be seen if a deal has already been agreed, but for Bellerin - who has been the first-choice right-back this season - not to feature in arguably the biggest game of the campaign might just suggest the writing is on the wall in terms of his decade long tenure at the Emirates Stadium.
Should Bellerin leave, it means Chambers and Cedric would be Arteta's right-back options for the new season.
Although the Gunners have been linked with moves for Achraf Hakimi and Tariq Lamptey in recent months and a £22m cash injection might help fund a deal for a new right-back.
