Mikel Arteta makes Folarin Balogun decision as Arsenal's interest in £60m goal machine cools

Welcome to The Arsenal Way daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.

Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories doing the rounds.

Balogun set for January loan

Arsenal have decided to let Folarin Balogun leave on loan in January, according to The Athletic.

The 20-year-old striker signed a new long term contract at the club in April this year but has failed to stamp down a regular place in the first team.

Middlesbrough, Swansea City and Milwall are all believed to be interested in the player's services.

Our view: There's no doubt that Balogun is extremely talented. When you look at his returns at U23 levell, it's clear that he can do a good job within the first team as well.

But with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah all ahead of him for now, it doesn't leave the club with much choice. A loan should do him some good and when he returns, the striker situation at the Emirates will hopefully be a lot clearer.

Edu moves on from Vlahovic

Arsenal have distanced themselves from reports linking them with a move for Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to Goal.

The Serbia international is in fine form in the Seria A at the moment after scoring his 30th league goal in 40 appearances this year over the weekend.

Vlahovic, 21, has been heavily linked with a move to both the red and white sides of north London after it was confirmed he had rejected Fiorentina's attempts to tie him down to a new contract.

Meanwhile, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has said that it will take around £60 million for the striker to depart in January.

Our View: It would be very silly of Arsenal if they are not seriously looking at Vlahovic. He's young, exciting and has bags of potential. He simply fits the bill.

Yes, £60 million may be seen as a lot of money but I actually think that's not too bad in this day and age. Remember, we are talking about a player who has scored 15 goals in 17 appearances this season.

And he's not just a one-season wonder after hitting 21 goals during the previous campaign. He'll only get better from here.

Details on next seasons kits leaked

FOOTY HEADLINES have released the first initial details on Arsenal's 2022/23 kits.

The site is well known for its reliable information on upcoming football kits, boots and clothing collections before they hit the stores.

Now they have revealed that Arsenal's away kit for next season will mainly be black, while the third kit is set to be pink - a first in Gunners history.

Our view: Thanks to Adidas, I very rarely have the worry about our kits being horrendous nowadays. And based on the early information for next season's apparel, I remain very calm. They will all be beautiful and leave my bank account empty, no doubt!
