Mikel Arteta claims there is a long queue of top players wanting to join Arsenal.
Arteta says Arsenal have not been turned down by one single player who they wanted to sign during his 18-month tenure at the Emirates.
Gunners boss Arteta is ready to begin a major overhaul of the squad this summer with Hector Bellerin among the big names who could be on their way.
Arteta has also dropped a major hint that David Luiz will also not get a new contract at the end of the season with the club ready to back the manager with up to four new signings.
Arsenal are facing their first season out of European competition since 1995/96 and that normally means clubs struggle to attract big names.
But Arteta said: “Every player that we have been linked with, or we had some communication with, I haven’t seen one that was refusing to come here. [It’s] completely the opposite. Everybody is very willing to join our club.”
Arteta himself joined Arsenal as a player in 2011 and says the lure of moving to the Emirates was more important than playing in the Champions League.
The Spaniard also says that they want players who are more interested in playing for Arsenal than joining a club just to play in Europe.
Arteta said: “I was already so keen to come before because I always admired this football club and the way they did things, and the way they used to play. So it was an easy one.
“That’s a really good point and as well we have to take the club to where we want. In order to do that, you have to be willing to accept the situation that we have today to achieve what we want in the future.”
Arteta is talking openly about wanting to be busy this summer - and also said he wants to get his business done early.
He added: “That’s always the idea because it allows you time to work with the players, to adapt. And, when you have to the amount of changes that you have to, you do it at the last minute you know what is going to happen.”
