Mikel Arteta has Wilfried Zaha warning for Arsenal amid game plan to stop Crystal Palace

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta insists that the Gunners must be aware of the threat of Wilfried Zaha, ahead of the clash with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Gunners head to Selhurst Park on Saturday, with Arsenal currently one point and one place below the Eagles in the Premier League table.

Arsenal have had defensive issues this season, and have struggled in the past against Palace star Wilfried Zaha, with the Eagles forward causing the Gunners problems and winning several penalties, including one in the 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium back in October.

And Arteta has said that how Arsenal defend against Zaha will be part of the Gunners' game plan for the clash in south London.

"[it is] One of the things to be aware of, 100 per cent," Arteta said.

"We know Wilf and the type of talent he is. When he gets isolated in one-on-one situations, we know what he can do. Of course it will be part of the gameplan."

Arteta was then asked if Zaha was a player he would like to have at Arsenal, after the Eagles ace was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium last summer, only to stay put at Palace, despite submitting a transfer request.

In reply, the Gunners head coach spoke of his appreciation of what Zaha can offer.

"I think he's a terrific player and I think the impact he's had in the Premier League in the last few years has been phenomenal. His ability to create chances on his own is unique."
