Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has admitted he is losing interest In his old club after they were defeated by newly-promoted Brentford on Friday night.
The Gunners were dominated from start to finish during their Premier League curtain-raise against the Bee's, with goals from Sergi Canos and Christian Norgaard on either side of half-time sealing a 2-0 defeat.
The north London club have endured a difficult time under current boss Mikel Arteta, finishing ninth in each of the two seasons the Spaniard has been in charge of.
And Petit has revealed that his former team's playstyle is extremely hard to watch as they registered just four shots on target despite Thomas Frank's side deploying an extremely high line throughout the contest.
"Little by little I am losing interest in Arsenal, with this way of playing it does not generate any emotion to see their games", he told French outlet RMC.
"They give me no emotions and I find that I don’t get the trajectory the team have taken in the last few years. It started in the last few years of Arsene Wenger’s management and it has continued with his successors.
"I don’t get it because it's not about money, they have money but it's more about the profiles. We will see the player’s profiles they have signed in this transfer window but I see from yesterday’s game that Arsenal’s weaknesses are the same they have been for years, particularly on the defensive side, last night it was a fiasco.
"The worst these days is that Arsenal is no longer an attractive club. Who wants to go there?"
The Gunners face a difficult run of fixtures next, hosting London rivals Chelsea next Sunday before travelling to reigning Premier League champions Manchester City the following week.
