Mikel Arteta gives Lucas Torreira injury update following Arsenal's draw at Crystal Palace

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has given an update on Lucas Torreira after the midfielder was substituted at half-time during the draw against Crystal Palace.

The Gunners took the lead at Selhurst Park after just 12 minutes, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang slotting home after he was played in by Alexandre Lacazette.

Arteta's side went in ahead at the break, but Torreira failed to reappear for the second half, with Matteo Guendouzi replacing him at the break.

The Gunners conceded less than 10 minutes later, with Jordan Ayew hitting a deflected effort past Bernd Leno in the Arsenal goal.

Mikel Arteta: We switched off for the goal

And things went from bad to worse for Arteta when Aubameyang picked up a straight red card for a challenge on Max Meyer, with a VAR check upgrading his initial yellow card.

Arsenal held onto a point despite spending the last half an hour down to 10 men, and following the game, Arteta confirmed that Torreira was taken off due to an injury.

"It looks like it's an injury," he told reporters.

"He had to come off at half-time. We'll have to check with the doctor but it looks like it."

Arteta will be without Aubameyang for the next three games following his red card, with fixtures coming against Sheffield United, Chelsea and an FA Cup tie against Bournemouth.

He will be loathe to lose Torreira for an extended period of time.
