Mikel Arteta gets transfer decision right as wonderkid Eddie Nketiah shares highlight reel

It has been somewhat of a strange season for Arsenal wonderkid Eddie Nketiah.

After impressing in pre-season - including goals against Bayern Munich as well as Fiorentina - he was allowed to leave on loan by then Gunners head coach Unai Emery.

And there was plenty of interest in the striker.

In the end, Leeds United won the race and Nketiah moved to Elland Road and was given the no.14 shirt.

But despite coming up with some important goals for Marcelo Bielsa's side in their attempt to seal a return to the Premier League following an over decade long absence, he couldn't overtake Patrick Bamford as the first-choice centre-forward.

As a result, his loan spell came to an end in January.

And since returning to the Emirates Stadium Nketiah has benefited from the change in management as he's been given several chances to impress under new head coach Mikel Arteta.

Although that's not to say the England U21 international didn't enjoy his time in Yorkshire.

In a 59-second video clip uploaded to his Twitter account, Nketiah included all the goals he's scored this season - and his efforts for Leeds made the cut.

Also included in the video are Nketiah's strikes against Bournemouth, Everton - his first home Premier League goal - and Portsmouth for Arsenal.

Speaking about how he convinced Arteta to give him a chance during the second half of the season, the youngster revealed it came down to his efforts in training.

"He was a bit 50:50 on letting me go anyway and I was 50:50 as well," Nketiah said. "Obviously I just trained well and played my usual game, I try to give my all in training and treat it as a game.

"He likes this mentality and obviously the quality I have, I try to showcase that. It's just about working hard, I'm grateful he's given me the opportunity he has and I just want to keep learning.

"He's a great manager and has a real determination to help and improve players, young players and the senior players as well. I just want to keep learning from him, make sure my mentality is right each day and keep improving."
