Mikel Arteta fires warning to Arsenal stars ahead of clash with 'specialists' Burnley

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has warned his stars they "cannot be bullied" by Burnley if they are to leave Turf Moor with three points.

The Gunners travel to the Lancashire outfit on Sunday as they bid to improve on their current league position.

A win for Burnley however would see Sean Dyche's side climb above Arsenal, with the teams currently level on points.

And Arteta knows Arsenal must be prepared for a physical challenge, or face the same fate as Burnley's latest conquests Leicester and Man Utd.

"What they do, they do it really, really well and they're specialists at that," Arteta told a press conference. "The type of game that they want to play makes it really difficult for the opponent.

"So we need to be ready for a battle, be clever and take the game the way we want.

"A lot of teams, they get bullied even if they believe they cannot be bullied. This is how good they are and this is their strength. So we have to make sure this does not happen."

Arsenal have both new signings Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares available for selection after completing their transfers in the January window.

Mari has already been involved in a training session for Arsenal after completing his initial loan switch from Flamengo on Wednesday.

Soares meanwhile only completed his loan move from Southampton on deadline day, but is likely to train on Saturday ahead of the trip to Burnley.

The arrival of both players was essential for the Gunners, who have several defenders out through injury and suspension.

Speaking of Soares, Arteta said: "He's got that desire, that commitment.

"With more time I'd like to have a specialist for every position, to do exactly what we want to do.

"What I want is to have more options and more availability to be more unpredictable."
