Mikel Arteta has rung the changes for Arsenal’s Premier League game with Sheffield United this afternoon.
Eddie Nketiah replaces Alexandre Lacazette up top in one of four switches from their last Premier League outing, a 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool on Monday night.
Gabriel Magalhaes starts after featuring in the Carabao Cup win over the Reds in midweek, with Rob Holding dropping out.
Dani Ceballos and Mohamed Elneny start in midfield for Arsenal, with Granit Xhaka rested, while Bukayo Saka – who also played in the midweek cup game – is in for Ainsley Maitland-Niles.
Arteta spoke ahead of the game with the Blades about the need to make changes to his Arsenal side.
“We need to rotate, it’s been very demanding,” he told Sky Sports.
“I want fresh players again against a very tricky opponent. We know what to expect because we struggled against them last season, so we have to be at our best again.”
Arteta was asked whether the changes would mean a switch in today’s shape.
“We changed some players,” he replied. “No indication.”
Sheffield United have struggled at the start of their second season back in the Premier League, losing their first three games without scoring a goal.
“It’s a team that plays with a lot of courage, a lot of determination, a really high pace and they complicate you with very simple things,” Arteta said.
“They have some really good rotations and all the roles they’re able to generate in certain areas, you have to control, so let’s see how it goes.
“They need the points, we need the points as well because we need to win at home again.”
