Mikel Arteta drops hint over Arsenal's transfer deadline day plan after Cedric Soares signing

Mikel Arteta has hinted that Arsenal's transfer business on transfer deadline day could now be done.

Arsenal have signed two players so far this month, with Spanish defender Pablo Mari joining the Gunners on loan from Brazilian side Flamengo becoming the first new arrival of the Arteta era earlier this week.

That was then followed up with the signing of Portuguese full-back Cedric Soares on deadline day, with the right-back joining on loan from Premier League rivals Southampton until the end of the season.

But with the clock ticking down towards the January transfer deadline at 11pm tonight, Arteta has been speaking about whether or not there could be more business done by the Gunners.

And the Arsenal head coach is not ruling anything out, but has hinted that the Gunners' business is now complete.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the game against Burnley this weekend, he said: “I’d like to say (no) but you never know.

“We’ve been trying to be active in the market. We found two players who can be useful and we are happy.

"It has been tricky injury wise in recent weeks, but I am happy where we are."
