Mikel Arteta discusses Nottingham Forest target Eddie Nketiah's Arsenal future

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal will make a decision on Eddie Nketiah’s future in the coming days.

The 20-year-old striker spent the first half of the season on loan at Nottingham Forest’s Championship rivals Leeds United, and is expected to head back out on loan.

Despite scoring five times to help Marcelo Bielsa’s Whites top the division, the youngster and his parent club were unhappy with his limited opportunities at Elland Road.

Nketiah is understood to be in talks over a move to the City Ground, and boss Arteta says sorting out the future of him and Tyreece John-Jules is high on their list of priorities.

John-Jules is expected to sign on loan for Lincoln, in a move which could signal the return of Tyler Walker to Forest, while Bristol City and Sheffield Wednesday along with Forest are keen on securing the services of Nketiah for the remainder of the season.

“We are assessing the options with the three of them and in the next few days," said Arteta.

“Tyreece and Eddie are in the same situation. Eddie has become a much better player.

“We have to discuss whether we keep him or not in the next few days.

“I’m not expecting big things. I’m expecting big things from the players I have now to get through the season in a more balanced way. We always have to be looking because of some injuries.”
