Mikel Arteta has given his opinion on reports that Daniel Ek is readying a bid to take over Arsenal from its current owners Stan Kroenke and KSE.
The Swedish billionaire announced his interesting in potentially buying the Gunners on Friday and reports have since emerged that he is very serious in his intentions to do so and has sought out the help of legends Patrick Vieira, Thierry Henry and Dennis Bergkamp to help make it happen.
However, the Kroenkes have never shown any intention of selling the club and released a statement on Tuesday night reaffirming this to be the case.
And now speaking ahead of Arsenal's Europa League semi final with Villarreal, Mikel Arteta has come out in support of the American businessmen and praised their commitment to the club.
"A lot of talks and a lot speculation has been surrounding the situation in the last week or so," he said.
"Our fans raised their voices during the match against Everton but now we have a very clear statement from the owners.
"So, I think that is gone when they say what they said last night and show the commitment and desire to take the team where we all want. I think it’s very clear where we are moving forward."
He then went on to add that he was convinced the Kroenkes were the right people to take the club back to the heights of the Arsene Wenger 's early reign.
"I said from the beginning what my perception was, everything that I sense, all the communications that I have with them," he said.
"They are fully excited and committed to this project and they really want to push everybody to do what we want to do."
The Spaniard went on to be asked if he was concerned that the support of Arsenal legends for a new person to take over the club might create a division, but said he would rather not deal in hypotheticals.
"Listen I cannot control the speculation and what’s going on," he said.
"What I like to know and talk is about the reality and the reality is that we have owners who are really committed. They want a successful team on the pitch and they are going to do everything they can to achieve that.
"This is what we have and I feel fully supported with them."
