Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has assured fans that the Gunners will be active in hunt for additions on deadline day - but stopped short of promising new arrivals.
So far, Omar Rekik, Mat Ryan and Martin Odegaard have moved to north London during the mid-season window but Arteta has spoken about his desire to sign a left-back.
Kieran Tierney has missed Arsenal's last three matches, leading to Cedric filling in on the left-side and, while he has impressed, it has exposed the Gunners' lack of depth in that area.
With Bukayo Saka being a pivotal member of Arsenal's attacking line and Ainsley Maitland-Niles poised for a deadline day exit, Arteta is in need of a recruit.
While securing deals late in the window is not an easy task, Arteta has assured fans that work is going on behind the scenes in an attempt to secure some late business.
"The last day of the window is always unpredictable, things can happen. It might happen, it might not happen. We are on it," he told a press conference.
Links with left-backs and Arsenal have been few and far between in the past week, with only a couple of players touted for a move.
Southampton's Ryan Bertrand is among them, with it speculated he could play a part in Maitland-Niles proposed loan to the Saints.
Another link to emerge concerns Patrick van Aanholt, who is out of contract at Crystal Palace this summer and, crucially, counts as a homegrown player despite being a Netherlands international.
