Mikel Arteta could repeat Jurgen Klopp trick as behind the scenes changes at Arsenal continues

Arsenal backroom team continues to undergo changes

Behind the scenes at London Colney, changes continue at pace with the medical department facing something of a reshuffle recently.

Darren Burgess, the former head of elite performance who left the club in 2019, performed his own overhaul during his two years at the club, getting rid of a lot of long-serving medical staff members and replacing them with his own men.

Head of medical services Dr Gary O’Driscoll and Head of performance Shad Forsythe are set to oversee even more change, starting with the news that first team physio Paulo Barreira is set to leave the club this summer.

Arteta’s tactical approach could take inspiration from table toppers

As Mikel Arteta still very much attempts to refine his tactical style at Arsenal, there are signs of the approach he hopes to adopt long term.

The new Gunners boss wants to play on the front foot and with the players at his disposal, it appears as though he will utilise his full backs Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin to contribute to attacks.

An idea would not be dissimilar to the way Premier League leaders Liverpool play and the impact of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson will be something Arteta looks to emulate at Arsenal.

Josh Williams takes a tactical deep dive into what Arsenal will hope to look like going forward.

Midfielder returns to training to provide boost for Arteta

Lucas Torreira is back in Arsenal training and in line for a return to action when football resumes.

The Uruguayan was staring at a long term layoff following an ankle injury sustained against Portsmouth in the FA Cup in February.

However, the enforced break in football has given the midfielder time to recover and the player has been reunited with teammates and taking part in training.

Mikel Arteta will hope to have Torreira available for selection before the end of the campaign, which is due to resume on June 17 with the Gunners travelling to Manchester City.
