Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has spoken out after Chelsea midfielder Jorginho was linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium earlier this week.
The Gunners are keen to bolster their strength in midfield and have been linked with Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar.
However, Jorginho, who has been a key player for the Blues in the last two seasons, was linked with a move to Emirates Stadium recently, a move that would see him be reunited with Willian and David Luiz.
Arteta was asked about the links on Jorginho and whilst he would not speak about the Italian international, he is still keen to improve his squad before the transfer window closes.
"We are still open to improve our team,” said Arteta.
“We are looking for different options depending on what happens with our players here.
“I cannot open up on players that play for a different team and their qualities.
"It's not appropriate.”
Since switching Napoli for Chelsea in 2018, Jorginho has made 100 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring seven times.
He was also part of the side that beat Arsenal in last year’s Europa League final.
