Mikel Arteta has said the “doors are always open” for Jack Wilshere if he needs to train with Arsenal.

The midfielder is currently looking for a club after leaving Bournemouth in the summer and he recently opened up on his struggles.

During an interview with The Athletic, Wilshere revealed he was finding it difficult to find a new side despite his experience.

The 29-year-old has since been training out in Italy with Serie B side Como as he bids to get his career back on track.

Arteta has also extended an olive branch and said the ex-England international can train with Arsenal if he needs somewhere else to work to keep fit.

“[He is] someone that I know, that I shared the dressing room with,” said Arteta, who played with Wilshere during his time at Arsenal.

“Someone who is so loved around the club with every person here and our doors are always open.”
