Mikel Arteta 'angry' at Arsenal transfer chiefs amid major Gabriel Jesus worry and Chelsea link

Mikel Arteta is reportedly angry with Arsenal's indecision in the summer transfer market.

The Spaniard is keen to bolster his squad as the north Londoners look to end their six-year UEFA Champions League hiatus. football.london understands that technical director Edu is targeting at least one forward, a central midfielder and a backup fullback whilst the club are also said to be hopeful that Eddie Nketiah will sign a new contract at the Emirates Stadium.

Alexandre Lacazette is set to join Ligue 1 side Lyon on a free transfer at the end of the month whilst fellow striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was allowed to leave for Barcelona back in January, leaving the Gunners short of options upfront. Manchester City star Gabriel Jesus has been linked as a potential replacement for the veteran frontmen and football.london understands that the aforementioned Edu has held talks with the player's representatives in recent months.

However, The Daily Mail have now reported that Arteta is growing increasingly frustrated by his side's business given all major dealings reportedly need to be approved by Stan or Josh Kroenke. The report goes on to say that the former City assistant coach fears this type of approach may cost them in the race to sign Jesus.

Real Madrid, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a move for the 25-year-old in recent days but the player has refused to give much away regarding his next move. "I'm fine, calm. Calm, as I always was. Always looking for the best for me, for my career," he said last month.

"I've never been one to throw myself into a project without knowing it. And that's what I'm going to do. Now I'm focused on the national team, but as of Tuesday, I start thinking about my future."
