Arsenal have enjoyed a relatively successful January transfer window.
Prior to the window opening, there were three moves that manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu had already decided on.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of Arsenal's 4-0 win over West Brom last month, Arteta revealed that he was expecting a number of first-team players to leave.
"Well, we have a large squad. We knew that," Arteta revealed. "A lot of things that should have happened in the summer we could not accomplish them for different reasons.
"There are a lot of players that are going to go on loan. They are going to leave.
"And that's the priority at the moment because we cannot sustain the numbers that we have in certain positions.
"We are looking to do that."
And the Gunners have been able to do exactly that as William Saliba and Sead Kolasinac have departed on loan, while Mesut Ozil, Sokratis, and Matt Macey have all left permanently.
Those exits then allowed the north London outfit to focus on some incomings.
Edu revealed at an Arsenal fans' forum last month that signing a creative player was the main priority and this week the signing of Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid was finalised.
Although, a few days earlier the Gunners completed another loan signing in the form of Mat Ryan after Arteta had also confirmed a new goalkeeper was on his shortlist.
If the window was to close today, Arteta and Edu can be rather pleased with their efforts as they've pretty much fulfilled their transfer promise.
With that said, there is still time for some more deals - whether it be incomings or outgoings.
Now that the Odegaard loan deal has been confirmed, Arsenal can continue with their plans for the remainder of the transfer window.
And there are three moves that have been decided. One being signing a left-back amid links to Ryan Bertrand following Arteta's hint at wanting to bring in cover for Kieran Tierney.
The other two are loan deals as Reiss Nelson has been linked with a move to the Championship to play first-team football, while Sky Sports claim Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are in talks with Arsenal about signing midfielder Lucas Torriera on loan.
