Joan Jordan has said that he is "super comfortable" at Sevilla amid links to Arsenal.
It has been reported in the national media that the Gunners are showing an interest in the 26-year-old midfielder as manager Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his midfield options this month.
The Gunners spent big on Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhaes in the summer transfer window, and also resigned Dani Ceballos as well as bringing in Willian on a free and Runar Alex Runarsson as back up to Bernd Leno.
With the focus now on the January window, Arteta and technical director Edu are in full agreement that a creative midfielder is Arsenal 's next transfer mission.
Hence links to the likes of Julian Brandt and Emi Buendia.
However, a rather surprising name who currently plays his football in Spain has been linked to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks - and it's not Real Madrid's Isco.
Rather it's the aforementioned Jordan.
The central midfielder could be allowed to leave the La Liga side this month for less than the £55m release clause in his contract.
It is claimed that Sevilla would be willing to accept a £32m transfer fee as clubs in Spain are in desperate need of cash because of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
But what does Jordan make of the speculation regarding his future?
Well, the midfielder has broken his silence amid the links to Arsenal and has refused to be drawn on whether he would be open to the idea of joining the north London giants this month.
"In the end, these are just things that come out, like the many things that were said, the rumours, when I was at Eibar," Jordan told Estadio Deportivo before Sevilla's 1-1 draw against rivals Real Betis on Saturday.
"I have always been very clear about the present… the future does not feed me, it takes away from me and does not give me the energy I need.
"My mind is genuinely here in Sevilla and on the derby. I am at a super ambitious club, and I have nothing more to say because I really am super comfortable here, like I was when I arrived here.
"Things can come out, but I tell you my mind today and the people that know me can back me up, it’s not that I’m avoiding the question just that really, my mind is on the derby."
