Mikel Arteta admits his Kieran Tierney 'joy' as Arsenal boss tells star he's captured hearts and minds

Mikel Arteta insists working with Kieran Tierney is "a joy" as he issued the Scot another glowing review.

The former Celtic star has captured hearts and minds at Arsenal with a string of impressive displays since the Premier League restarted.

Tierney provided a perfectly weighted assist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to round off the Gunners' FA Cup semi-final win over Manchester City on Saturday.

The 23-year-old's contribution has earned glowing tributes from pundits and fans.

And now Arteta has told Tierney he "appreciates everything he's done" since the Spaniard took over from Unai Emery as boss.

Arteta said: "I think I can talk for all the staff when I say we are delighted with him. He’s a joy of a kid.

"He’s always willing to do more, he always wants to train harder, he wants to push himself more. He had some difficult moments since he joined but hopefully he feels (settled).

“We really like him and we really support him. I really appreciate everything he’s done since we joined. For me, he’s a player who is a really good role model for any other player in the squad.”
