Mike Vrabel talks Titans re-signing Jaleel Johnson after critical tweets

The Tennessee Titans announced they have re-signed defensive lineman Jaleel Johnson to the active roster, which comes just eight days after the team waived the veteran, who then fired off now-deleted tweets expressing his frustration with the team.

When asked about the decision to bring Johnson back in the wake of those tweets, head coach Mike Vrabel said he’s spoken with Johnson and is comfortable with the move to bring him back.

“We had a conversation and I would say that’s out of character for Jaleel,” Vrabel said, per ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “I’ve enjoyed the time that he was here, getting to know him through the offseason and camp and his professionalism and obviously he was frustrated.

“I think we all, at times, get frustrated and that’s how he chose to let that emotion out. Probably not the way that we would recommend it and he knows that. But again, we all get frustrated at times and I don’t think anybody is immune to that. So, I know who Jaleel is and I’m comfortable that he’ll give us everything he has.”

Johnson has spent time on both the practice squad and active roster this season. He has 12 tackles in six games.
