Mike Vrabel appeared to facetime Tom Brady and Julian Edelman at a college basketball game

On the same night Julian Edelman told the world Tom Brady is “coming back” — which seemed like a joke and not an actual declaration of Brady’s decision — Mike Vrabel called the duo of New England Patriots.

The Tennessee Titans coach was spotted Facetiming with Brady and Edelman, who were on the sideline at the UNC game against Syracuse.

It seems like an eventful night for Brady, who was very apparently displeased with Edelman for his comments. The drama only escalated with Vrabel’s call, as his team currently doesn’t have a quarterback. Ryan Tannehill and Marcus Mariota are both pending free agents, like Brady.

Many have suggested Brady would be a good fit in Tennessee, where he could play under his former teammate, Vrabel.

Of course, Vrabel was probably careful to avoid recruiting Brady, because that would be a violation of the NFL’s tampering rules. And though the Patriots seem OK with Brady getting a sense of his market, Edelman is so dedicated to keeping the quarterback that he might figure out how to file the tampering charges on his own.
