Mike Tyson to fight Roy Jones Jr for free after announcing boxing comeback

Boxing legend Mike Tyson has revealed he will take on Roy Jones Jr for free as he donates his big-money fee to charity.

The two fighters, who have a combined age of 105 years, will meet in the ring in an eight-round exhibition bout on September 12.

Tyson’s comeback will take place 15 years after he hung up his gloves and marks an incredible transformation after a recent return to training.

And Tyson, who has lost six stone, says his enthusiasm comes from the fact he is doing it for his passion for the sport and to help others rather than his own financial gain.

He told TMZ Sports: "Now I'm doing it with a lot more enthusiasm because I'm doing it for someone else.

“It's going to be for various charities.

"Nobody has to ever worry about me getting rich, or getting jealous, or saying I'm doing this for money.

"I'm not getting anything. I just feel good doing this because I can.”

Tyson reportedly turned down a huge £16million offer for a bare-knuckle fight in order to take on Roy Jones Jr.

The is expected to generate big money on pay-per-view and on social media platform Triller.

Tyson is reported to have blown an estimated £320million fortune at the height of his fame and partying as he racked up £18m in debt.

He says he is now happier without such huge financial riches, saying earlier this month: "I’m happy I don’t have money anymore, I don’t have any money.

“Cause no one can take anything from me anymore. There are no vultures. Nobody out there trying to take anything from me. So I’m just happy.”
