Mike Tyson reveals he spends more than £30k a month on cannabis

Boxing legend Mike Tyson has discussed his heavy use of cannabis and admitted to smoking around ten tonnes of weed every month.

Tyson, now 53, was speaking on his Hotboxin ' podcast, and also revealed he has plans for a marijuana themed resort which Tyson himself has called the "Lollapalooza of cannabis".

Speaking on the podcast with his co-host Eben Britton, the former NFL offensive tackler, Tyson said: "What do we smoke a month? Is it $40,000 a month? It's $40, yeah, $40,000 a month."

"We smoke 10 tons of weed at the ranch a month." added Britton.

Tyson started his own company called Tyson Holistic Holdings in 2016 and now owns the Cannabis farm in southern California.

"Kid Dynamite" does not actually grow the weed himself, but it is inspected to reach his standards and run past him before he gives it his seal of approval.

Tyson is, clearly, a big advocate of the drug, which is legal if it used recreationally or medically in the state of California.

Speaking on the Joe Rogan podcast a few months ago, Tyson said: “I like who I am when I smoke. You know what I mean? Without weed I don’t like who I am sometimes. It makes me nicer. It calms me down."

His company has released a map with a plan for the completed cannabis ranch, and Tyson said his vision is for it to help educate public in the potential healing abilities of the drug.

There are also expected to be music festivals at the site, although there is no news yet on when the ranch will be officially opened or how much entry will cost.

Tyson will be hoping the idea goes better than his previous business ventures, as he was declared bankrupt in 2003 despite amassing a fortune during his boxing career.
