Mike Tyson branded "one-dimensional" by former rival Lennox Lewis

Lennox Lewis believes Mike Tyson was a one-trick pony - even when he was the baddest man on the planet.

Lewis KO'd rival Tyson in the eighth round of their explosive clash in 2002 with Tyson going on to win just once more as a professional.

Tyson is now preparing for his comeback fight against Roy Jones Jr next weekend while Lewis features in a new documentary charting the highs and lows of his career.

And during an appearance on ITV's Good Morning Britain, he was asked if he would have beaten Tyson 10 years earlier.

"Yes. I'm a five-dimensional fighter and he’s a one-dimensional fighter," he said.

"Mike Tyson is a great guy in one sense. I knew him when he was younger.

"I went up to spar with him after the junior world championship where I won a gold medal and his team were saying I didn't box the best guy.

"Me and my trainer at the time, Arnie Beam, drove to Catskills and met him.

"He took me to his room, he was nice, we looked at lots of old films and he was more into boxing at the time that I was.

"He knew all the old guys and all the different techniques of boxing.

"So I grew to really like and know him when I was an amateur but then when he went into his pro career I never really knew why he was acting like that.

"Then we fought and he was just the same guy I met when we were 14 or 15."

Tyson and Jones will meet in an eight-round exhibition fight on November 28, 15 years after Tyson retired from the ring following his stoppage defeat by Kevin McBride.
