Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he will "rain down" his judgment on unhappy receiver Martavis Bryant for comments made on social media but made it clear the team has a lot invested in him and he is not available to be traded.
"We've covered a lot of ground (with Bryant)," Tomlin said Tuesday at his weekly news conference. "It's obvious we still got more ground to cover with him. He was out of bounds with some of his actions, with some of the things he said on social media. It will be dealt with in an appropriate manner."
Tomlin said he hasn't met with Bryant since his big-play receiver made comments on social media Sunday night that he was unhappy with his role and was better than rookie receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who had a touchdown catch against the Cincinnati Bengals. Those Instagram comments have since been deleted.
When he does meet with him, Tomlin sounded as though he plans to discipline Bryant.
"I'll rain down my judgment and we'll move forward," Tomlin said. "He's a good guy to work with in the building. ... He's worked diligently. (But) he's said things when he's not around us that's been somewhat of a distraction because I have to field questions about him."
Tomlin also appeared to be disappointed Bryant suggested he didn't get any help during his one-year suspension and that he acted alone to get back with the team.
Still, he was quick to emphasize, "he's not available via trade."
Tomlin added he's not bothered Bryant is upset with his role but said, "The means he goes about it isn't appropriate."
Meantime, Tomlin said Smith-Schuster complained of concussion-like symptoms after Sunday's game and is in concussion protocol.
